An Address Delivered November 9, 1895, on the Occasion of Dedicating the Memorial Stone Erected by the Pennsylvania Society of Sons of the Revolution, at Queen and Thirty-first Streets, Philadelphia, Marking the Site of the Encampment of the Continental Army in August and September, 1777. Philadelphia, 1896. 1st ed. 11pp. Frontis. A near fine copy in orig. printed wrappers. About the memorial at the spot of WAshinton's encampment in Philadelphia before and after the Battle of the Brandywine. Upon their return to Philadelphia from Chester County, the troops found that Congress had granted them 30 hogsheads of rum to reward their bravery. They stayed at Schuylkill Falls only two days in September, before decamping. Philadelphia fell to the British on the morning of 26 September.
