AMMONS, A. R. Ommateum with Doxology. Orig. cloth, non-priceclipped dust jacket. Philadelphia: Dorrance and Co., 1955. First edition of the author's first book. Ommateum was reportedly published in a run of 300 copies by vanity press publisher Dorrance; according to a 1996 article in The Paris Review, just 16 copies were sold in the five years after publication, with two-thirds of the run destroyed. Jacket worn and stained, very slight chipping at extremities, else very good.
