Toning. Very good. A laudatory guide to women of the Bible, offered as a New Year's gift in 1850, per the inscription on the front flyleaf. The binding is a remarkable and elaborate production, with the mother-of-pearl inlay actually making up part of the picture, not just used as a decorative element.
