An extensive directory for the growing capital city, listing organizations such as the Public Library, the Humane Society, and the Abolition Society. Page 193 gives the address of "Washington George, President of the United States, 190, High Street." Howes notes that the sixty-nine page section with the running title "A Short Account of Philadelphia," may have been issued separately.
