With the bookplate of George Davis Barron, a very successful mining engineer. Barron notes the provenance on the front free endpaper: "Presented in August 1909 to George D. Barron, Rye, N.Y., by his friend John Bishop Putnam and specially bound by G.D.B. in January of 1918." Laid in are two typed carbon letters signed from Barron about this copy.
