Dornbusch II, 460. Rare. Reed, a native of Bluntville, Alabama, joined Co. A, 9th Louisiana Infantry, in the spring of 1862. He fought in the army of Northern Virginia and saw action at Chancellorsville, Second Winchester, Gettysburg, Rappahannock Bridge, Spotsylvania Courthouse, and Cold Harbor. He was wounded at Cold Harbor, which ended his military career. He settled in Union County, Arkansas.
