An entertaining day by day journal with good photographs. The bear hunt was on the Majo Ranch of Jones Bros. & Magill. Title page with title in a box to the left at top with a vignette of a bear chasing a man at the bottom right; on verso of title page: "Press of/P. J. Collison & Co/Brooklyn-New York" Copies are known in the libraries at Yale ("Presentation inscription to B. Laueiford") and Brigham Young (acquired 1985); the William Beach-Samuel Webb copy; a presentation copy to Harlow Brooks; the Streeter-Litchfield copy; and the present copy. With a (faded) half-page inscription on the title page from the author, New York sportsman Joseph McAleenan, disclaiming any literary merit, to the "My Dear Archbishop"
