Minor rubbing to spine ends and corners, bookplate of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States, Commandery of the State of Minnesota, else very good or better. Dornbusch III: 2582. Presentation inscription from the author on front endpaper, "Presented to the Library of the Minnesota Commandery of the Loyal Legion by C.C. Andrews, October 3, 1888." Laid in is a small broadside, "The Third Minnesota Entering Little Rock." Andrews, who ended the war as a major general, commanded the 2nd division of the XIII Corps and participated in the siege and storming of Fort Blakely, Alabama. On 9 March 1865 he was assigned command of the district of Mobile.
