Orig. cloth. Some wear to spine ends and corners, inner hinges starting, faint speckling to cloth, internally very good. Limited to 350 copies. Presentation inscription from the author on front endpaper, "George L. Knowles with comps. W.S. Baker, May 4, 1887." A later hand has added below: "S.S. Bradford, who wonders who in the hell George L. Knowles was! November 1, 1964." Knowles was a Philadelphia financier and board member of many cultural institutions. He was president of the Commercial National Bank and Baker served on its board.
