Collot's survey-the most detailed of the Western interior up to his time--was made in 1796, probably in concert with Genert's abortive scheme for involning that section inattaching the Spanish possessions in Florida and Louisiana. Both English and French editions were printed simultaneously, in 1805, but not published till 1826, at which time all but 100 copies of the English and 300 if the French were deliberately destroyed." A fine set in 3/4 leather and marbled boards.
