Rare, Worldcat locates only one copy. Neblett was a prominent citizen of Corsicana, Texas, serving as mayor, state representative, judge, and other positions. Laid in is a 6-pp. autograph letter by William Neblett, dated 19 September 1863 to his wife, Lizzie.In it he describes the sinking of his ship in Galveston Bay. William Neblett describes conditions, "There is no yellow fever in Galveston but we have a good deal of mild cases of fever here and on the boat & some cases of flux, but none have proven fatal.Paper is five dollars a quire in Galveston."
