"The characters are chiefly South Carolinian...the volumes are a great source for the Revolution"--DAB. Presentation inscription on partially printed bookplate affixed to front pastedown of Vol. Two, "In testimory of his sincere regards & esteem this is presented to Rich. W. Bacot, Esquire, by his friend, the Author." Bacot's ownership signature is on the front board and the front pastedown.
