(VATICAN). Collection of 26 Hand-colored Engravings of the Vatican and Two Original Watercolors. Folio. Orig. calf-backed paper-covered boards cornered in cloth, spine decorated in gilt. Some rubbing to binding, all plates fine. Scenes of ceremonial occasions, portraits of the pope, cardinals, bishops, and priests all shown in a variety of ceremonial garments and religious ceremonies. Others show papal guards and officials, day and nighttime processions. Includes two original watercolors, one of St. Peter's Square at night and another of an interior scene of a mass. One engraving is dated in the plate 1829.
