Currie, with every good wish, Kenneth Roberts, December 5th, 1940." Laid in is a 4 pp. A.L.s dated Oxford, Dec. 14, 1933 to "Dear Barton [Currie}." Asks Currie to wait until spring to send a book for signing and writes, "I'm reserving a little language for the ass who did a review of Rabble for the Herald-Tribune ... and displayed his coruscating metality by mentioning 'those two great historical novels, Vanity Fair and Carlyle's French Revolution' ... If that doesn't take the cake, cake is no longer in use." Roberts continues by complimenting Currie for an article in the American Book collector and giving bibliographical information on Arundel. In the original mailing envelope. With a typed postcard signed to Barton Currie, dated January 27, 1947 telling him that books had been sent. A fine copy with a few small closed tears to d/j in a custom cloth slipcase.
