OCLC locates only 11 copies. A detailed diary of birds shot by the author and his friends at Wenham Lake, Massachusetts, together with a recapitulation of the numbers of various species taken in each year described in the diary. Phillips also records species he introduced at Wenham Lake, including pheasants, and the disappearance of native quail in the winter of 1903-04. John Charles Phillips (1876-1938) was a Harvard educated physician and a noted conservationist. He was president of the Massachusetts Fish and Game Association (1926-32), the founder of the American Committee for International Wildlife Protection and its chairman (1930-38), and the author of A Natural History of the Ducks (1922-26), Wild Birds Introduced or Transplanted in North America (1928), and American Waterfowl (1930).
