Remains of spine label, very old water stain to top margin, not affecting text, inner hinges starting, some soiling and rubbing to boards, else a very good copy. An early directory for Keokuk, although Spear lists four previous directories. Besides businesses and their accompanying, often pictorial, ads, there are listings of churches, cultural institutions, city and county officers, benevolent associations, and a general directory listing the inhabitants' addresses and occupations. Also two advertisements in color, one for the publisher and one for the printer.
