In addition to the lists of residents and streets, the volume provides information on local organizations, city offices, and physicians, surgeons, and nurses. "People of Color" are listed in a separate, eight-page section. On the copyright page, Stimpson notes that 12,006 alterations were made for the 1843 edition, and a total number of 20,930 names included.
